Basic Title IX & focus on current strategies for our schools...

Discussions of critical contemporary issues in Title IX - updated guidelines for equitable treatment in academics, activities, employment.
Update on sexual harassment and gender-based violence - harassment, homophobic harassment, and implications of addressing gender-based violence in our schools, especially elementary and middle levels.
Resources on bullying and intimidation, and sample policies and prevention programs.
Update on equity in athletics, especially hazing and the strategies and tools available nationally and in Montana, presented by executive staff of MHSA.

The basics of handling investigations and practice with your own cases.

Hot Topics in Education. The US Supreme Court recently decided an affirmative action case. We'll go through the case and apply it to a school the setting.  The OCR has issued single sex guidance for schools - what you can do and what you cannot do.

Handling reports and remediation for sexual harassment with an emphasis on common missteps with student-student behaviors & issues with adults.

Protecting school district liability and working with counsel. An education attoney will lead a discussion of "best practices" for administrators and counsel in handling Title IX issues and investigations.
